The Pedersen name has been synonymous with forestry processing solutions for nearly 40 years. Just 10 years after the company was established to produce roundwood for New Zealand Forest Products, the business expanded to include chip mills, supplying high quality wood chip to New Zealand’s major pulp and paper companies.

The Pedersen business strategy was simple; streamline the chip process and deliver better product, more economically.

Over the next 20 years, Pedersens ability to refine and improve the recovery process gave their clients exactly the results they wanted, and their operations became significantly more cost effective and efficient. During that period Pedersen also became the only company in the world to successfully implement and run in-line to pulp mills.

Through this success, the company earned the reputation as being the one to turn to if you needed an innovative capital solution. That’s exactly what happened as some of the Southern Hemisphere’s largest pulp mills engaged Pedersen to deliver export debarking and chip solutions.

Today, Pedersen employs more than 170 people in two countries and handles over 9 million tonnes of fibre annually for major global forestry organisations.
