1. Trainee Ticketer – Log Scaler

    Pedersen Group is seeking to employ a Trainee Ticketer/ Log Scaler to join our Kinleith Operation.

    The successful applicant for this position will be able to demonstrate the following skills and attributes

    • Ability to learn and pass an NZQA qualification in Log Scaling
    • Basic computer skills
    • Ability to use initiative
    • Be physically fit and prepared to work in an outside environment
    • Work as a contributing member of an integrated team

    The hours of work are on a shift roster covering 7 days per week with regular additional hours offered to suit operational needs.

    This position provides the successful applicant the opportunity to join our Ticketing/Scaling team in a permanent position.

    You are required to hold a full  car license to apply for this position

  2. Team Leader – Ticketing and Scaling

    Pedersen Group is seeking to employ a Team Leader to join our Kinleith Operation.

    The successful applicant, reporting to the Log Yard Supervisor, will be able to demonstrate the following skills and attributes

    • Responsible and accountable for the Scaling teams Health and Safety compliance and adherence.
    • Ability to motivate and lead the scaling team to ensure outcomes both Quality and Quantum are achieved consistently
    • Responsible and accountable for team performance

     

    Whilst a background in Forestry would be an advantage the key requirement of the position is to successfully lead a team of up to 9 employees on a daily basis.

    The role is a full time role normally Monday to Friday but because the business is a 7 day a week operation some weekend work will be required.

    A vacancy has become available at the Kinleith site Tokoroa, for the Site Manager, reporting to the General Manager Pedersen Group.

    The Kinleith site, employing 50 staff operates a Chipping and Debarking operation, the Taumata Export Log Yard, and an Export Log Debarking Plant.

    The role is accountable and responsible for the Day-to-Day management of all operations, maintaining a close working relationship with the principals of our clients, by managing the Operational outputs and performance, setting strategies and plans in place through the coordination of fibre, labour and both fixed and mobile plant at the Kinleith Site,

    Key areas of responsibility include:

    • Commitment to a Health & Safety focussed culture by promoting and supporting the Company quality & safety standards, focusing on continuous improvement whilst demonstrating the Company values and behaviours.
    • Client Relationships and KPI’s.
    • Input into, and accountability for the site operational budget.
    • Providing leadership and support to the site’s employees.
    • Overseeing and co-ordinating all functions on site.

    .As the successful applicant, you will have proven ability to lead and motivate a cohesive team of direct reports, and with the site staff operating on a seven day a week basis, whilst fostering on-going organisational culture and improvement, demonstrating sound judgement with a focused and logical approach to problem-solving.
