Pedersen Kinleith Limited is seeking to employ a suitable experienced and qualified Maintenance Fitter. The Kinleith operation has a Debarking Plant and a Chipping plant which is double shifted, offering the successful applicant a variety of work on both the existing Chipping Plant and the Debarker.
The successful applicant for this position will be able to demonstrate the following skills and attributes:
- Repair and maintenance of Heavy Industrial Equipment with exposure to Timber Processing plant an advantage
- Fabrication and welding skills
- Computer Literacy
- Strong Health and Safety focus
- Reliable and have the ability to work unsupervised and as part of a small team
The initial hours of work are Monday to Friday 10 hours per day and the appointee will be expected to work reasonable overtime on occasions.

Pedersen Group is seeking to employ a suitable experienced and qualified Logyard Mobile Plant Operator to join our operation at Opal Australian Paper, Maryvale.
The successful applicant for this position will be able to demonstrate the following skills and attributes:
- Strong Health and Safety focus
- Previous demonstrable experience in operating a pivot Loader with bucket attachment
- Log Forks and Excavator experience would be an advantage
- Good practical mechanical aptitude
- Reliable and have the ability to work unsupervised once trained
- Motivated and show initiative.
The hours of work for the position are 5 days a week, day shift, and the position is full time permanent role.

The Kinleith site operates a Chipping and Debarking operation for OjiFS, the Taumata Export Log Yard for Manulife Forest Management NZ and an Export Log Debarking Plant.
A vacancy has become available, for a Log yard Supervisor, reporting to the Site Manager.
The purpose of the position is to be:
- Accountable and responsible for the supervision of the Taumata Log yard and Debarker production KPI’s
- Ensuring that inventory is received stored and supplied to the Debarker and is received stored and dispatched from the Taumata yard
- Managing the direct reports, outputs and performance, and setting strategies and plans in place through the coordination of fibre, labour and mobile plant within the Taumata Log yard and Debarker
- Ensure integrity and accurate recording and measurement of Taumata log yard stock and to monitor log quality through quality control audits.
- Maintain and enhance the relationships with Manulife Forest Management NZ representatives.
As the successful applicant, you will have proven ability to supervise, with a total staff of 20 operating on a seven day a week basis, whilst fostering on-going organisational culture and improvement.

A vacancy has become available at the Kawerau operation for a Maintenance Manager.
This role reporting directly to the Site Manager will be accountable and responsible for plant maintenance fixed and mobile, ensuring productivity rates and efficiencies are achieved, by forecasting, planning, organising and carrying out scheduled, non-scheduled and preventative maintenance on the fixed and mobile plant, developing an effective working relationship with all parties that have an interest or potential impact on the business.
Key areas of responsibility include:
- Responsibility & ownership for developing and delivering a constantly evolving quality maintenance plan that drives performance.
- Assessing and analysing opportunities on repairs and maintenance issues to both fixed and mobile plant and machinery.
- Assessing the quality of the product outputs and make recommendations and or modifications for quality control and continuous improvement, working at both the ‘shop floor’ and as a part of the Site leadership team to resolve any plant issues.
- Leading a Maintenance Team that drives and delivers quality outcomes at all levels.
- Input into and management of the site maintenance budget both R&M and Capital.
- Developing and maintaining a commitment to a Health & Safety focused culture by promoting and supporting the company quality & safety standards, focusing on continuous improvement whilst demonstrating the company values and behaviors.
As the successful applicant, you will have proven ability to lead and motivate a cohesive team of 8 direct reports, whilst fostering on-going organisational culture and improvement, demonstrating sound judgement with a focused and logical approach to problem-solving.

Pedersen Kinleith Ltd operate the Kinleith Export Log Yard for Manulife Forest Management Ltd. We currently are seeking to employ a shift loader Operator.
Applicants for this role should be able to demonstrate previous experience and current competence in the operating of a log loader or similar equipment. The primary function of the role is the unloading of log trucks and the loading to rail in the export yard.
The position is a shift role working 4 on 2 off rotation day shift of 11 hours per day.
The holding of a class 2 license and W endorsement is required for the role but applicants who do not have these endorsements but have the demonstrated skills and experience should apply as support for you gaining your licenses may be given.
